The Parish Team is delighted with the announcement that places of worship can open for Public Mass at the beginning of phase 3, on June 29th. This will be a consolation to many people.
In order to make sure that parishioners can return to celebrate Mass together, the Parish Team needs to be prepared and the church needs to be a safe environment for all who come. Some of the recommended safety measures are already in place as the church has been open daily for private prayer. Seats are 2 metres apart, numbers are monitored, hand sanitizer stations are in place and daily disinfectant cleaning takes place after the church closes each evening. There will be a one way entry and exit system in operation from next week.
To open with the view of returning to four weekend Masses with 80+ people in attendance at each, the Parish Team will require teams of stewards who will assist at doorways to ensure hand hygiene on entry and also a clean down of seats, kneelers and shrines between Masses.
The Parish has never needed people more than now to ensure we can re-open safely. Can you volunteer to help out?
Contact the Parish Team at 01-4542425 with your details if you wish to be added to the list. Even if it is only a half hour of your time, every volunteer is vital.
Many thanks in advance.
The Parish Team.
