Wishing everyone a joy-filled and blessed Virtual Pride today, especially our friends and parishioners in the LGBTQ+ community. As a nation we have come SUCH a long way in the last few decades … and yet we know that there is still a long way to go for people to feel truly respected, understood and accepted in their identities, and not least as members of the Catholic Church.
Let us continue to work, and to speak out, for a world in which people are not discriminated against on the basis of who they are, or who they love. Let us work until EVERY space is a SAFE space for sexual minorities. Let us reach out in love, compassion, support and solidarity, moving past the fear and stereotypes, and discovering the REAL people who are behind those letters, in all their beautiful complexity and diversity.
Jesus said it best…. “Love one another as I have loved you”.
