Catholic Schools Week 2014: ‘Places of Faith and Learning’
Catholic Schools Week (CSW) will be celebrated between Sunday, 26th January and Saturday, 1st February. This year’s theme is ‘Catholic Schools – Places of Faith and Learning‘. This year‟s theme was chosen to highlight that all learning takes place in a values context. Catholic Schools Week is an occasion to celebrate the work and achievement of Catholic Schools in Ireland, north and south.
This is the sixth year of celebrating the wonderful contribution that our Catholic schools, both primary and post-primary, make to the mission of the Church in our local faith communities and throughout the wider Church. Our Catholic schools are key to the mission of the Church. Schools are called to be places where we witness to the world by doing and acting differently. They are places where we proclaim Christ to all.
As a Catholic community may we continue to support the work and effort that is carried out in our schools. We give thanks to the Boards of Management, principals, teachers and staff that work so hard in our schools to hand on the faith in a changed and changing culture.
